1st shift Supply Quality Engineer
Elgin, IL 60121
Responsibility of control and monitoring supplier quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand and support company quality objectives.
Work with the suppliers to develop and monitor new product quality and address quality related issues.
Provide support for other Departments.
Conduct supplier quality audits
Provide information for supplier quarterly scorecards
Evaluate and approve supplier PPAP
Direct supervision of incoming quality hourly staff member. Must be able to work closely with suppliers and hourly/salaried staff members.
Must be able to lead meetings to define root cause and determine corrective actions for internal and external quality problems.
Requires strong follow up skills to make sure related activities are on time.
Understand the manufacturing process flow of each internal and external manufacturing process. In depth knowledge of how the supplier supplied part quality can effect internal processes.
Analyze and validate the quality of product made from internal and external manufacturing processes.
Read and understand technical drawings.
Use automotive quality core tools - APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
Develop standards related to manufacturing processes.
Must be able to work directly with suppliers and be able to cascade customer specific requirements to each tier of the supply base.
Work closely with Sales and Applications Engineering Staff for all new and current product and process changes.
Ability to use inventory control system.
IATF Certified Auditor
VDA Certified Auditor Preferred.
