3nd shift Maintenance Mechanic
Elgin, IL 60121
Maintain and troubleshoot all equipment in the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains, repairs and trouble shoots all production equipment in the plant.
Rewires and rebuilds machines as required.
Purchase components for rebuild and maintenance purposes if directed.
Repair hydraulic, pneumatics, and electrical as needed
Interpret schematics and drawings.
Perform preventive maintenance.
Fabricate items when needed.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; and minimum two years related experience and/or training; or minimum of 5 years industry experience and/or training in machine repair and maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A working knowledge of control circuits, process controls, plant electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and operation of machine tools a must.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Must be able to read Schematic drawings and work from verbal direction.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to trouble shoot and diagnose problems.
